Dude Ranches have grown in popularity because they are unique ways to experience life different than the norm. They offer the chance to get a feel for the Old West and the newl. Below are some of our picks for the best Dude Ranches in Wyoming.

Northeast Region

The Spear–O-Wigwam Ranch in Bighorn (888-818-3833) has a wide assortment of activities. You can choose to go fishing for brown, brook, cutthroat and rainbow trout in secluded lakes and streams, hike the craggy heights of the Bighorn Mountains to see the elk, moose and deer, or you can enjoy horseback riding at the ranch and surrounding trails. On site activities include massage, volleyball, horseshoes, cookouts, hot tubs, canoeing and children’s activities.

The Lake Guest Ranch (307-467-5908) is a great place to live the cowboy’s life. You can go on round-ups, take long trail rides and in the evenings there are home-cooked meals and barbecues.

Central Region

Rockin’ 7 Ranch (307-322-8169) in Shawnee is the perfect place to experience the west. The cabins are neat and clean, have a fireplace, and cable and Internet. They make wonderful base camps for hunters as the deer, antelope, buffalo and game birds are plentiful.

Southeast Region

To experience nature at its best, visit the Flying Diamond Ranch (888-327-5174) in Encampment. At the working cattle ranch you can participate in hunting, fishing, float trips, archery and tepee camping.

Northeast Region

The Seven D Ranch (888-587-9885) has been Wyoming’s leading family dude ranch since 1958. While there you can enjoy horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking and children’s activities. Just a stone’s throw from the Hoback River is Spotted Horse Ranch (800-528-2084) where you can arrange for pack, hunting and fishing trips.

Southwest Region

Miners Repose Bed & Breakfast (307-362-7880) in Rock Springs offers world class fishing at Lake Flaming Gorge as well as boating, kayaking, historic trails, hiking, camping, a wild horse loop and golf.

Southeast Region

The Windy Hills Guest House & Spa (874-946-3944) in Cheyenne offers all the coziness of home. You can enjoy a fantastic view of Granite Lake or relax in the hot tub after a day of exploring the city. For luxury and rustic cabins, check out Woods Landing Resort (307-745-9638). You will find a store, hot showers, hiking, four wheeling and several other activities available.

Northeast Region

The Gateway Motel and Campground (307-587-2561) in Cody offers cabins with fully furnished kitchens, bathrooms with showers, bedding, and cable TV and Internet.

The Yellowstone Valley Inn & RV Park has several accommodation choices including riverside and mountain cabins. You can also enjoy area fishing and rafting.

Southwest Region

The Rocking M Ranch (877-654-7288) offers deluxe cabin just 4 miles south of Alpine, and the Old Mill Log Cabins (307-886-0520) in Afton has luxury cabins with fully equipped kitchens and whirlpool/ hot tubs. These beautiful cabins are great for weekend getaways and allow for convenience to area snow activities—snowmobiles welcomed.
